A Valentine’s Day episode of Wheel of Fortune sparked debate after contestant Conner Kemmsies missed a potential $40,000 bonus in the final round.
The commercial pilot had already won $19,080 in cash and prizes before entering the Bonus Round. The category was “Phrase,”
and Conner quickly recognized the beginning of the puzzle as “I DID MY,” but struggled with the final word.
When time expired, the answer was revealed as “I DID MY HOMEWORK.” Conner took the loss humorously, saying, “Aw, dude, I don’t do homework anymore. I’m not in school now.”
The puzzle, however, divided viewers. Some argued that “I DID MY HOMEWORK” was not really a phrase but simply “a normal sentence,”
making the category misleading. Others believed the puzzle was fair and that Conner was simply unlucky.
