Early Stroke Warnings
Strokes don’t always happen suddenly. “The body often gives warning signs—sometimes weeks in advance.” Recognizing these early symptoms can save lives and reduce damage.
Key Symptoms to Watch For
A major sign is “sudden numbness or weakness, especially on one side of the body—in the arm, leg, face, or hand.” What might seem like fatigue or a pinched nerve could mean less blood flow to the brain.
Vision and Headache Alerts
Vision problems like “blurriness, double vision, or brief blindness in one or both eyes” can be warning signs. These may come and go, making them easy to miss. Severe headaches, especially with “nausea, neck stiffness, or light sensitivity,” also require attention.
Balance Issues and Mini-Strokes
Dizziness, “loss of balance, or trouble walking” should not be ignored. Feeling off-balance or that “the room is spinning” might indicate a stroke. Mini-strokes, or TIAs (transient ischemic attacks), cause brief stroke-like symptoms and serve as important early warnings.
