Tragic MRI Accident
Keith McAllister, 61, died after being pulled into an MRI machine at Nassau Open MRI in Westbury, Long Island. His metal chain, which he wore for weight training, was violently drawn in by the machine’s magnetic field.
Wife Witnesses Incident
His wife, Adrienne Jones-McAllister, had just completed a knee scan and asked a technician to call her husband for help. “I saw him walk toward the table and then the machine just snatched him,” she said. “He went limp in my arms.”
Ignored Warnings and Past Visits
Jones-McAllister claims the technician had seen the chain before and joked about it: “Ooooooh, that’s a big chain!”
Family Blames Technician
Stepdaughter Samantha Bodden wrote, “The technician left the room to get her husband… He forgot to inform him to take the chain off.” McAllister was trapped for nearly an hour before emergency responders freed him.
