Approval Rating as Economic Worries and Globa
Trump’s Approval Slips Amid Economic and Global Tensions
President Donald Trump is facing new political challenges just months into his second term.
His national approval rating has dipped to 45%, down from 49% in January, with 46% now disapproving. “Even though the drop might appear slight, it represents a growing sense of unease,” The Daily Boulder reported.
Growing National Division and Independent Shift
An Emerson College poll shows 53% of Americans believe the country is on the wrong track. Independent voters are leaning Democratic in upcoming congressional races—37% favor Democrats versus 27% for Republicans. “There is potential for changes in either direction,” said Spencer Kimball of Emerson, noting that 36% of independents remain undecided.
Red States Show Signs of Cracking
Even in Republican strongholds like Texas, support is fading. A University of Texas poll found that only 44% of Texans approve of Trump, while 51% disapprove. Economic issues are key: “51% disagree with Trump’s economic management,” and “52% are unhappy with his handling of inflation.” Support among Texas Republicans dipped slightly from 89% in April to 87%.
