Kash Patel, Pam Bondi Announce Chilling Arrest
Justice Dept. Shuts Down Major Child Exploitation Networks
The Justice Department and FBI have dismantled four dark web platforms hosting child sexual abuse material (CSAM) through Operation Grayskull, resulting in 18 convictions and severe prison sentences.
One key figure, Thomas Katsampes, received over 20 years in prison for distributing CSAM and acting as a moderator. He had “actively promoted and distributed CSAM—including material involving prepubescent children,” according to DOJ records.
“These offenders thought that they could act without consequences, but they were wrong,” said Acting Assistant Attorney General Matthew R. Galeotti.
The sites were among the most “egregious” ever found, with graphic content, encrypted communication, and over 120,000 users. FBI Director Kash Patel said, “You cannot hide behind anonymity to harm children.”
In Florida alone, eight men received sentences of up to life in prison. Arrests were also made in several countries. “We will relentlessly pursue and prosecute anyone,” said U.S. Attorney Hayden P. O’Byrne.
