EPA Chief Zeldin Revoke Obama-Era
Trump Administration Ends Key Obama-Era Climate Rule
The Trump administration is dismantling a major part of the Obama-era climate policy by revoking the 2009 EPA Endangerment Finding, which allowed strict greenhouse gas regulations.
EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin announced the repeal, calling it a move to end “climate absolutism.”
Impact on Auto Industry and Costs
The rollback eliminates costly rules, including the EV mandate and stop-start engine requirement. Zeldin said the change could save Americans “over $54 billion a year.”
Wind Turbine Safety Controversy
Zeldin also criticized the Biden administration for ignoring safety protocols when placing wind turbines.
“The left just hasn’t been honest in talking about the safety concerns, the environmental impacts, the economic costs,” he said.
Return to Traditional Energy Policy
Energy Secretary Chris Wright praised the move as “a monumental step toward returning to commonsense policies that expand access to affordable, reliable, secure energy and improve quality of life for all Americans.”
