Feds Probe AOC For Employing Illegal Alien
Federal Investigation Launched Into AOC’s Alleged Employment of Undocumented Immigrant
Tom Homan, former acting ICE director, confirmed a federal investigation into Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) over claims she employed an undocumented immigrant and helped others evade ICE.
“It’s being looked at…we’ve asked ICE to drill in on that case,” Homan said.
The focus is on Diego de la Vega, an undocumented immigrant who previously worked in politics and was appointed Deputy Communications Director by AOC in 2022. “Diego is amazing,” Ocasio-Cortez said in a past interview.
Homan also criticized her for hosting webinars that advised undocumented immigrants on avoiding ICE. “She’s really educating them on how to avoid prosecution,” he claimed.
AOC maintains her actions are legal and constitutionally protected. “I was…using the First Amendment to inform people of their constitutional rights,” she told Fox News, calling the investigation “politically motivated” and warning of a “tremendous sea change” in U.S. democracy.
