Clinton Approved Plan to Smear Trump with Russia Ties, Declassified Docs Show
Newly declassified documents reveal Hillary Clinton approved a plan during her 2016 campaign to link Donald Trump to Russia, aiming to distract from her email scandal.
The strategy, proposed by advisor Julianne Smith, involved “raising the theme of ‘Putin’s support for Trump’” and equating it with election interference.
One memo states, “Clinton approved a plan… to smear Donald Trump by magnifying the scandal tied to the intrusion by the Russian special services.”
Sen. Chuck Grassley said, “The Obama FBI failed to adequately review… the Clinton campaign may have been ginning up the fake Trump-Russia narrative.”
Other declassified files showed U.S. intelligence told President Obama in 2016 that “Russian and criminal actors did not impact recent US election results.”
Reporter Paul Sperry wrote, “There are texts/emails indicating Hillary Clinton campaign aides directly coordinated with the Obama White House… to dig up dirt tying Donald Trump to Vladimir Putin.”
