She Took A Photo Of Her Daughter, But

A Memorable First Day Photo

Brooke Mills, like many students, was excited to take her traditional first-day-of-school photo. As she posed near a tree for the start of seventh grade, everything seemed perfect—until something unexpected appeared in the background.

A Hidden Surprise

Brooke’s mom, Joy Mills, was taking the pictures when she noticed something unusual.
“It blended so well I looked harder and realized what was there,” she told The Dodo.
Clinging to the tree, just behind Brooke, was a snake—completely unnoticed during the shoot.

A Quiet Warning

Not wanting to scare her daughter, Joy calmly told Brooke to come over without explaining why. Once Brooke was at a safe distance, her mom revealed the surprise.
“When she realized what was behind her she was speechless,” Joy recalled. “We couldn’t believe it when we looked at my phone at the pics and just how close he was and we had no idea.”

The Ultimate Photobomb
The snake seemed to have picked the perfect moment to photobomb Brooke’s big day. While it didn’t cause any harm, it definitely left a lasting impression.
Thanks to her unexpected reptilian visitor, Brooke now has what might be the most unforgettable back-to-school photo—and story—of the year.
