At First They Thought It’s Just A Bruise
Embracing Differences
Every person is born unique. Nicole Hall’s daughter, Winry, was born with a rare skin condition called congenital melanocytic nevi (CMN), which appears as large mole-like patches.
“When they first handed her to me, I thought it was a bruise… it looked a lot like a mole,” Nicole shared with Good Morning America.
Understanding CMN
CMN are moles present at birth or shortly after. While often harmless, they can pose a small risk of developing melanoma.
“Her health and happiness are our top priority,” Nicole says, adding that they’re careful with sunscreen and regular checkups.
Raising Awareness
Winry may face stares and comments, but her family is focused on spreading awareness. “For a lot of people, this is the first time seeing a birthmark like hers… I enjoy sharing,” Nicole says.
Spreading Positivity
Despite her condition, Winry is thriving. “She just radiates joy… already getting a little bit of sassiness,” Nicole says proudly.
Through TikTok, they’re connecting with others and building community.
