Woman Declared Dead For 8 Minutes
A Glimpse Beyond Life
Brianna Lafferty, 33, was clinically dead for eight minutes due to a rare neurological condition.
During that time, she says her soul left her body. “I was suddenly separated from my physical body…
I felt fully alive, aware and more myself than ever before,” she recalled. There was no pain—only “a deep sense of peace and clarity.”
Death as an Illusion
Brianna believes what she experienced proves death isn’t the end. “Death is an illusion because our soul never dies,” she said.
She described encountering a voice in the darkness asking if she was ready—and she replied yes. “There’s a presence, or intelligence, higher than ourselves that guides and watches over us with unconditional love.”
A New Understanding of Life
In the realm she entered, time didn’t exist, yet everything was in perfect order.
“My thoughts instantly manifested into the afterlife… our thoughts create a reality there,” she said. She also claimed to have met beings that felt familiar but may not have been human. “I experienced the beginning of everything and learned that our universe is made up of a bunch of numbers.”
Life After Death—and Life After That
Brianna’s journey transformed how she sees life, suffering, and purpose. “Looking back, everything is so crystal clear as to why I suffered,” she explained. After returning, she had to relearn how to walk and talk, and underwent experimental brain surgery. “I have a heart of gratitude instead of anger.” Though the idea of another near-death experience is daunting, she says, “I came back with a sense of mission and deep reverence for both life and death.”
