Trump’s Tax Cuts Will Save Average Households
Tax Cuts Coming in 2026
A new Tax Foundation report says Americans will get an average $3,752 tax cut in 2026 under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA), which the White House is promoting.
“President Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill is the largest, most consequential tax cut on the middle class ever,” said Deputy Press Secretary Anna Kelly.
Permanent and Temporary Changes
OBBBA makes permanent the 2017 tax cuts, including reduced rates, a $15,000 standard deduction, and the $2,000 Child Tax Credit.
Temporary benefits include higher state tax deductions, senior deductions, and write-offs for tips and overtime.
Impact by Region
Taxpayers in all states will benefit, though amounts vary—Wyoming sees the highest cuts ($5,100), Mississippi the lowest ($2,400). Resort towns fare better than rural areas.
Debt Concerns and Future Plans
While the bill may add 938,000 jobs, the CBO warns it could increase the national debt by $4.1 trillion. Trump also hinted at ending income tax for those earning under $150,000.
