Schiff Could Face Fines, Prison Time if Classified

Whistleblower Claims Against Schiff
A Democrat whistleblower alleges that Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA) authorized leaks of classified intelligence to damage former President Trump during his time on the House Intelligence Committee.

The whistleblower said Schiff declared in a staff meeting, “the group would leak classified information which was derogatory to President of the United States Donald J. Trump” and that the leaks “would be used to indict President Trump.”

Legal Risks
Former U.S. Attorney Brett Tolman warned that if prosecutors act, Schiff could face severe consequences.

“The fine is up to $250,000 for every leak that’s charged,” Tolman said, adding penalties could reach “up to 20 years in federal prison” if the intent was to undermine the U.S.

FBI Inaction
The whistleblower claims FBI leadership, including Director Christopher Wray, ignored repeated reports from 2017 to 2023.

Critics argue this reflects a pattern of shielding politically connected figures.

Schiff’s Response
Schiff has not publicly addressed the new allegations, though he has previously denied leaking classified information and called such claims partisan attacks.
