I Went to Pick Up My Wife and Newborn

A Sudden Goodbye

When I arrived to bring Suzie and our newborn twins home, I was met with a note instead:

“Please take care of our daughters.

Ask your mother why I had to leave. I’m sorry.”

A Mother’s Cruelty

Suzie had long endured my mother’s harsh criticism.

That night, I found a letter in Suzie’s bag, written by my mother:

“You’ll never be enough for him. Leave now before you ruin his life.”

Realizing the damage, I asked my mother to leave.

Struggling Alone

I raised the twins alone, haunted by Suzie’s absence.

A friend revealed Suzie suffered from postpartum depression, worsened by my mother’s cruelty.

A Return and Rebuilding

Months later, Suzie sent a photo and message:

“I’m sorry. I miss you all. Please forgive me.”

On the twins’ first birthday, she returned. Tearfully, she shared her pain and asked for forgiveness.

We chose therapy and healing—together.

“Love isn’t about perfection. It’s about fighting for each other.”
