Chilling Warning From 1965 Comes

A Chilling Vision from 1965
In 1965, radio commentator Paul Harvey delivered a striking monologue, warning America of moral decline.

Titled “If I Were the Devil,” his message imagined evil infiltrating society to corrupt its core.

Undermining Faith and Values
Harvey warned, “I’d subvert the churches first…I would whisper to you as I whispered to Eve: ‘Do as you please.’”

He envisioned religion losing influence, replaced by moral confusion and spiritual apathy.

Corrupting Culture and Media
He claimed evil would twist entertainment, glamorize vice, and promote addiction: “I’d educate authors in how to make lurid literature exciting…

I’d peddle narcotics…I’d tranquilize the rest with pills.”

The Collapse of Society
Harvey foresaw rising crime, weakened families, and the erosion of discipline and patriotism:

“If I were the devil, I’d soon have families at war with themselves…

I could evict God from the courthouse.”
