Charlie Kirk Fatally Shot at Utah Debate
Conservative activist Charlie Kirk was shot and killed during a debate at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025.
A bullet struck him in the neck, reportedly fired from a rooftop 200 yards away.
Despite emergency aid, Kirk died as over 3,000 attendees fled in panic.
“People dropped to the ground and then fled,” a witness recalled.
Trump Responds and Honors Kirk
President Donald Trump mourned the loss, calling Kirk a “legendary” figure and “advocate of non-violence.”
He spoke with Kirk’s widow and announced Kirk would receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
A suspect was in custody, reportedly turned in by someone close to them.
Investigation Underway
The FBI released surveillance footage, a $100,000 reward, and identified forensic evidence including a bolt-action rifle.
Security and Public Reaction
Only six officers were present.
UVU Police Chief Jeff Long admitted, “We failed. This was a tragic failure of planning.”
