Donald Trump praises decision to take Jimmy Kimmel
Jimmy Kimmel’s Show Pulled
ABC confirmed Wednesday that Jimmy Kimmel Live! will be preempted “for the foreseeable future.”
Nexstar, which owns ABC affiliates, said: “Nexstar strongly objects to recent comments made by Mr. Kimmel concerning the
killing of Charlie Kirk and will replace the show with other programming.”
Kimmel’s Controversial Remarks
On Monday, Kimmel criticized reactions to Kirk’s death: “We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang…”
He also mocked Trump, saying: “This is not how an adult grieves the murder of someone he calls a friend.
This is how a four-year-old mourns a goldfish.”
Backlash and FCC Pressure
FCC Chairman Brendan Carr warned affiliates risked fines or license loss if they kept airing Kimmel,
citing “a pattern of news distortion.”
Trump Reacts
Trump celebrated the cancellation, writing: “Great News for America:
The ratings challenged Jimmy Kimmel Show is CANCELLED… Kimmel has ZERO talent.”
