Raymond Dehn of Buffalo began vaping at 15, later adding THC pens to his routine. By 24, the habit caught up with him.
Sudden Collapse
On September 13, Dehn felt a “searing pain” after vaping in his car.
“About a minute later, while walking in the mall, I passed out,” he recalled.
Doctors discovered his lung had collapsed, forcing him to spend four nights in hospital with a tube inserted to reinflate it.
Doctor’s Warning
Though unable to pinpoint the exact cause, Dehn’s doctor revealed she had treated
“three or four young people” in the past six months with the same issue.
“The only common denominator between all of us was that we vaped,” Dehn said.
A Call to Quit
Now off vaping, Dehn is urging others to stop before facing similar consequences.
“Every few minutes I get this overwhelming fear it’ll happen again… I want other young people to be aware.”
