Grieving family stunned as ‘dead’ baby

On October 19, 2024, Cristiano Santos and Katia Moreira rushed their 8-month-old daughter Kiara to
Faustino Riscarolli Hospital in Correia Pinto, Brazil.
Doctors found no pulse or breathing and declared her dead. Preparations for her burial began the same day.
Shocking Moment
Sixteen hours later, during the wake, mourners were stunned when Kiara’s hand twitched. When touched, she gripped back.
Paramedics confirmed a pulse and dangerously low oxygen levels but noted her body showed “no signs of rigor mortis.”
Declared Dead Again
Kiara was rushed back to the same hospital but her heart stopped once more.
Cristiano said, “We were devastated already.
Then there came a little bit of hope, but then this ended up happening… my miracle.”
Investigation and Outcry
Brazil’s Scientific Police launched an inquiry. The city apologized, promising stricter checks.
Cristiano later raged online: “What they did for my daughter can’t be done to a dog! God is watching! The world has seen it!”
