Father Accused of Killing Girlfriend and Newborn
Brandon Isabelle, 28, has been indicted on two counts of first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse, neglect, and kidnapping.
He is accused of fatally shooting his girlfriend, Danielle Hoyle, 27, and throwing their newborn daughter, Kennedy, into the Mississippi River.
Prosecution’s Case
Prosecutors say Isabelle lured Danielle under the pretense of giving her baby clothes, then shot her before discarding the two-day-old infant.
Baby Kennedy’s body has not been found. Police testified that Isabelle admitted he killed his girlfriend and baby because he “did not want a child.”
Evidence and Testimony
Authorities presented DNA, video, and testimonial evidence.
Messages revealed Isabelle had previously asked Danielle to abort the pregnancy.
Danielle’s mother, April Campbell, testified: “If he’s married, how do you think he’s going to treat you?”
Trial Ahead
Isabelle has pleaded not guilty.
A jury of 10 women and four men will decide his fate as the case moves forward.
