Ambulance Crash in Dougherty County
An ambulance carrying patients rolled over in a multi-vehicle collision Saturday morning at Pine Avenue and Monroe Street,
leaving eight people injured — including a newborn baby.
Inside the Ambulance
Officials confirmed three EMS workers and two patients were inside.
The baby’s involvement made the crash especially alarming, but authorities later said all eight victims are expected to survive.
Emergency Response
Dougherty County EMS activated strict protocols immediately.
Extra units arrived within minutes to treat and transport the injured.
“We are grateful that no serious injuries occurred, and we appreciate the swift response of first responders at the scene,”
said EMS Director James Gibney.
Investigation Underway
The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the cause, reviewing witness accounts and surveillance.
While relief spread that no lives were lost, the incident highlights both the risks faced by emergency crews and the need for safer intersections.
