Biden Judge Gives Trump 48-Hour

Judge Orders Trump Administration to Defend Chicago Troop Deployment

A Biden-appointed federal judge has given

President Donald Trump’s administration 48 hours to justify sending National Guard troops to Chicago,

intensifying a legal clash with Illinois’ Democratic leaders.

U.S. District Judge April Perry issued the order after state officials sued to block the deployment,

calling it “an unlawful act of political retaliation.”

While Perry declined to issue a restraining order,

about 200 Texas National Guard troops are expected to arrive by Wednesday.

Trump defended his move, saying, “We have an Insurrection Act for a reason…

I won’t hesitate to use it,” arguing the troops are needed to combat gang violence and enforce immigration laws.

Illinois officials, including Governor J.B. Pritzker,

condemned the action as a “premeditated escalation designed to provoke violence.”

The Thursday hearing could set a major precedent.

Legal experts say the case may define how far a president’s power extends in deploying troops on U.S. soil.
