Survivor of October 7 Attack Found Dead Two Years Later
Israel and Hamas have reportedly agreed on the “first phase” of a peace plan, but the pain from the October 7, 2023 attacks still runs deep.
During Hamas’s assault, 1,200 people were killed. Among them were Mapal Adam and Hili Solomon, murdered at the Nova music festival.
Roei Shalev, Mapal’s boyfriend, shielded her with his body. She sent her last text: “Don’t tell Mom, I’m scared.
There’s a massacre. Bullets are hitting me in the head.” Roei survived by playing dead for hours.
Weeks later, his mother died by suicide. Last week, Roei, 30, was found dead in a burning car near Netanya.
Before his death, he wrote: “Please don’t be angry with me… I just want this suffering to end.”
Mapal’s sister shared: “Roei was murdered on October 7 and died yesterday.”
His death underscores the invisible wounds of trauma and the urgent need for mental health support for survivors.
