Former President Donald Trump criticized Barack Obama,
saying he “won the Nobel Peace Prize for doing nothing but destroying the nation.”
The comments came a day after Trump failed to secure the same honor.
Speaking from the Oval Office, Trump said it was “strange” that Obama received the prize
“even though he had done little to earn it,”
while Trump claimed to have “stopped eight wars.”
He added, “I did this because I saved so many lives.”
Obama’s Nobel Prize, awarded sixteen years ago,
came just months into his presidency and was widely viewed as premature at the time.
Trump’s remarks ignited debate online, with supporters praising his peace efforts and
