Cracker Barrel Faces Backlash Over New Logo and Viral Claims
A viral post falsely claimed that Cracker Barrel’s CEO said, “MAGA doesn’t have to eat here.”
However, the company told Newsweek that its “values haven’t changed” and
that the quote circulating online is not from any official source.
The controversy erupted after the Southern-style restaurant
unveiled its first logo redesign in nearly 50 years, part of a $700 million rebrand.
The new look, described as being “rooted even more closely to the iconic barrel shape,”
sparked backlash from some conservatives who labeled it a “woke rebrand.”
Critics like Rep. Byron Donalds posted, “It’s time to Make Cracker Barrel Great Again,” while others mocked the outrage online.
Cracker Barrel emphasized that “Uncle Herschel remains front and center” and reaffirmed its focus on hospitality and community.
Despite the uproar, the company maintains the update honors its heritage rather than changing it.
