Trump Launches Audit to Block Benefits for Illegal Immigrants
A new audit ordered by President Donald Trump is reviewing at least 28 federal
programs to ensure taxpayer-funded benefits go only to U.S. citizens and legal residents.
The move targets alleged misuse of housing, food, and health assistance by illegal immigrants.
Housing Secretary Scott Turner directed public housing authorities to verify the legal status of Section 8 recipients within 30 days, stressing accountability and fairness.
“The only way to catch them and stop this insanity is to conduct an audit and kick out the offenders,” Trump said.
The review also covers Medicaid, food stamps, and Head Start programs under Health and Human Services.
