If Obama and Trump went head
Poll Imagines Trump–Obama Showdown
A Hypothetical Battle
It may sound impossible, but a new Daily Mail/J.L. Partners poll explored what would happen if
Donald Trump and Barack Obama faced off in a presidential race.
Though the 22nd Amendment limits presidents to two terms, speculation persists,
fueled by Trump’s playful hints about a third run and Obama’s silence.
Trump’s Teasing Remarks
Asked about such a matchup, Trump said, “I’d love that. That would be a good one.”
He added, “No people are asking me to run…
They do say there’s a way you can do it, but I don’t know about that.”
Poll Results
Of 1,013 registered voters, 52% favored Obama, while 41% supported Trump.
Obama also led strongly among Hispanic (73%) and Black (68%) voters.
Enduring Influence
Though legally impossible without a constitutional overhaul,
the poll underscores both men’s lasting political impact—
Obama’s enduring appeal and Trump’s continuing dominance in public debate.
