Bono Joins Forces With Springsteen
1. Feud Begins
While touring Europe, Bruce Springsteen criticized U.S. leadership as “corrupt, incompetent and treasonous.”
Donald Trump fired back online, calling him a “dried out prune of a rocker” and warning him to stay quiet.
2. Bono Steps In
On Jimmy Kimmel Live, Bono publicly sided with Springsteen, saying, “There’s only one boss in America.”
His comments pulled more attention to the escalating dispute.
3. Denial of Election Claims
Bono also rejected Trump’s accusation that he and other artists were paid to support Kamala Harris,
insisting, “U2 and I [were] never paid – or played – a show to support any candidate from any party.”
4. Growing Tensions
Criticizing Trump’s platform, Bono remarked it “seems to be pretty antisocial and it’s not very true a lot of the time.”
Their clash continues a long-running tension dating back to Bono’s warnings before the 2016 election.
