Trump reveals when ‘moderate income’
President Trump announced that his administration plans to issue “tariff dividends” before the 2026 midterm elections.
During an Oval Office event, he said the payments would arrive “somewhere prior to — the middle of next year,”
and would provide “Thousands of dollars, for individuals of moderate income.”
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent previously said the proposed $2,000 tariff dividend checks
were still “in discussion,” explaining the payments “could come in lots of forms,” including tax reductions from the One Big Beautiful Bill.
Trump also wrote on Truth Social that “a dividend of at least $2000 a person (not including high income people!) will be paid to everyone.”
