Trump Deploys U.S. Marines to

The U.S. military has deployed 200 Marines to Florida to support ICE with “administrative and logistical support,”

according to the Department of Defense. Officials say the Marines “will not be involved in law enforcement activities,”

instead assisting with communications, infrastructure, and supply coordination to ease pressure on ICE staff.

The deployment is part of a broader federal response to overcrowded facilities in high-migration areas, including Louisiana and Texas.

While supporters argue the move improves efficiency and helps ICE manage resources,

critics warn that the presence of uniformed troops risks blurring civilian and military roles.

Civil rights groups and some lawmakers have raised concerns despite

assurances that duties are limited to “non-enforcement duties” and are “strictly logistical in nature.”

Federal officials say the mission is temporary, closely monitored, and fully compliant with U.S. law to maintain transparency and public trust.
