CelebrityDennis Quaid Offers Prayers For Families
Dennis Quaid’s Anxiety During Texas Floods
Actor Dennis Quaid opened up about the fear he experienced during the deadly Texas floods that claimed over 100 lives.
On July 11, 2025, he shared how the disaster became deeply personal because he couldn’t reach his 17-year-old daughter, Zoe, who was working at Camp Longhorn in the affected Hill Country.
“I tried to call her because I knew she was up there… I wasn’t able to talk to her till the next day,” Quaid said, revealing he “didn’t really get a lot of sleep that night.”
Impact on Zoe and Camp Longhorn
Though Zoe and most campers were safe, the flood’s destruction nearby was severe. A camper lost her entire family when floodwaters swept away an RV by the Guadalupe River. Quaid urged compassion and support for the victims, highlighting the “Kerr County Flood Relief Fund” as vital for aid.
He also expressed his unease about what the surviving children endured, saying it “made me feel very uneasy to think of what they had to go through.”
Personal Connection to Another Tragedy
The floods also affected Quaid’s close friends, the Hunt family. Clark Hunt, owner of the Kansas City Chiefs, lost a 9-year-old relative, Janie Hunt, at Camp Mystic near Camp Longhorn. Quaid said, “I can’t imagine how that would … how devastating that would be,” showing sympathy for their loss.
