ICE removes slew of Southeast Asian nationals convicted of serious crimes
Deportations Announced
The Department of Homeland Security deported 12 Laotian illegal immigrants convicted of serious crimes, some with removal orders dating back to 2003.

Crimes Committed
“Obstructing a murder investigation, child sex crimes, and drug trafficking: These were just a few of the crimes these heinous illegal aliens committed in our country,” said DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. Convictions included murder obstruction, child sexual abuse, robbery, drug offenses, and fraud.

High-Profile Offenders
Notable cases include Sai Vang, 39, convicted of aiding a murder investigation, and Lue Kong, 43, convicted of first-degree sexual conduct with a child under 13. Others faced charges for robbery, home invasion, drug distribution, and weapons offenses.

Administration Response
McLaughlin added, “Under President Trump and Secretary Noem, America is no longer a safe haven for the world’s criminals.” DHS also encourages self-deportations for non-criminal illegal immigrants, offering $1,000 and free travel to leave the U.S. legally.
