Melania Trump glows during surprise visit to children’s Hospital

A Surprise Hospital Visit
Melania Trump continued a First Lady tradition on Thursday with an unannounced visit to Children’s National Hospital in Washington, D.C. She joined young patients in painting rocks and making Fourth of July crafts, later joking, “No, I don’t play golf,” when asked if she shared her husband’s hobby.

Gifts and Invitations
She handed out teddy bears holding American flags and invited the children to next year’s 250th Independence Day celebration at the White House, promising “fireworks and a flyover.”

A Gentle Walk
Alongside hospital President Michelle Riley-Brown, Melania toured the Bunny Mellon Healing Garden, her calm presence lifting spirits. She has long stressed the importance of these visits, once saying: “Even as they fight difficult illnesses or face challenges, [the children] bring such a joy to everyone they meet.”

Next Steps
Afterward, she joined President Trump to welcome Edan Alexander, an Israeli-American hostage freed after 584 days in captivity.
