It’s Time in Rome: Courage, a Mother’s Sacrifice
A Mother’s Gift of Hope
In Rome, Nichole Blevins from Alabama is undergoing a crucial procedure to collect what she calls her “mama cells.”
These immune cells may become a lifeline for her 11-year-old son Branson,
who is battling a rare and aggressive T-cell leukemia.
Branson’s Battle
Months of chemotherapy and hospital stays have tested Branson’s strength, but his courage inspires all who follow his journey.
“Tomorrow, I go in for apheresis—the process where they’ll collect my immune cells so they can be reengineered into cancer-fighting cells for Branson,” Nichole wrote.
A Risk and a Hope
This experimental therapy carries no guarantees, but results in related treatments fuel their optimism.
“That’s the hope we’re holding onto. What worked for others can work for Branson too.”
Faith and Sacrifice
Nichole added, “It’s overwhelming.
It’s terrifying. But it’s also sacred ground. Please, please pray for us.”
