Judge’s $1.5M beach home burns to the ground
House Fire in South Carolina
Judge Diane Goodstein’s $1.5 million Edisto Beach home was destroyed by fire on October 4.
The blaze forced the family to escape by jumping from windows and being evacuated by kayaks.
Three people, including her husband Arnold Goodstein, were hospitalized.

“The family had to escape by jumping from a window or balcony.
I’m told there were injuries from the fall such as broken legs,” said South Carolina Chief Justice John Kittredge.
Possible Explosion
Authorities reported the fire followed an “apparent explosion,”
but investigators have not confirmed whether it was accidental or deliberate. SLED is actively investigating.

Connection to DOJ Case
The fire came weeks after Goodstein blocked the Trump DOJ from obtaining personal data for 3.3 million voters.
She warned releasing it could cause “immediate and irreparable damage.”

Political Fallout
Congressman Daniel Goldman called out White House staff for threats against judges,
while Stephen Miller denied responsibility, calling Goldman’s claims “deeply warped and vile.
