Father and Daughter Die in Florida Plane Crash During Hurricane Relief Mission
A father and daughter were killed Monday in Florida when their small plane crashed into a waterway in Coral Springs
while en route to Jamaica on a hurricane relief mission. Alexander Wurm, 53,
and his daughter Serena, 22, died about five minutes after takeoff from Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport.
Ignite the Fire Ministry described Alexander as having
“warmth and unwavering kindness” and a life devoted to serving others,
traveling globally to bring faith, compassion, and support to those in need.
Serena, “following in her father’s footsteps, was a beacon of empathy and hope,
inspiring all with her commitment to humanitarian work.”
The ministry added, “Together, their final journey embodied selflessness and courage,
reminding us of the power of service and love.”
The Wurms are survived by Candace Wurm, their mother and wife, and two children,
James, 17, and Christiana, 20. The NTSB is investigating the crash’s cause.
