Tragedy in Texas Flood: A Father’s Final Goodbye
As floodwaters swept through Kerrville, Texas, Jeff Ramsey, 61, left a heartbreaking voicemail for his son Jake: “Buddy. I love you so much. It doesn’t look like we are going to make it. Tell Rachey I love her.” Moments later, another message captured his wife Tanya screaming: “We’re dying, we’re dying!” It was the last anyone heard from them.
The couple was inside their Airstream trailer when the Guadalupe River overflowed. An emergency alert arrived too late — Jeff had already begun recording his goodbyes.
Even then, Jeff warned Tanya’s family in a nearby cabin, saving their lives. “He rescued them because they would have slept in and they would have washed away,” Jake said.
Tanya’s body was found; Jeff is still missing. Their dog Chloe survived. Jake blames delayed warnings: “He already said goodbye to me and my sister.” Jeff’s voice now echoes as a father’s final act of love.
