A Strange Discovery
In my yard, I found something unusual. At first, it looked like “a long, winding rope laying on the grass.” But then I thought, “What if it’s a snake?!” My heart raced as I grabbed my phone to take a photo and carefully moved closer.

The Unexpected Truth
As I got nearer, fear turned to surprise. It wasn’t a rope or a snake. Instead, it was “a slow-moving column of roughly 150 caterpillars,” all crawling in a dense, straight line like they had “an invisible leader.” I couldn’t believe this was happening right in my yard.

Why Do They Move Like This?
I wondered, “Where were they heading? Why are there so many?” Some people think that caterpillars move in groups to protect themselves from predators or to find food more easily. Others suggest it might be to save energy, with those in front clearing the way for the others.

Curiosity Remains
This strange sight left me full of questions. I still wonder, “Do you know where they came from or where they were going?” It’s amazing how much nature can surprise us in everyday places.
