Shooting Near Howard University
Chaos erupted near Howard University Friday night when gunfire broke out along Georgia Avenue NW during homecoming celebrations.
The shooting occurred around 10:30 p.m. in the 2300 block of Georgia Avenue.
Authorities confirmed that four people were injured—“one critically, one seriously,
and two others with less severe wounds”—and all were taken to local hospitals.
Scene of Panic
Witnesses described crowds scattering as shots rang out.
Police closed nearby streets, collected evidence,
and reviewed security footage while interviewing witnesses to understand the incident.
Investigation Underway
No arrests have been made, and investigators have yet to identify suspects or a motive.
